I just started my clinical trial last week called PeTREA and would be interested to know if anyone else out there may be on the same or similar trial. It is basically rituximab chemo and bendamustine. I found it was pretty aggressive after the 2nd cycle and caused pretty awful nausea despite the meds given. I will most definitely be taking extra anti sickness pills next month!! On the plus side I am glad to be finally on the way now and will be glad when the 6 months is done.
Hi Rich64 good to hear that the start gun has been fired. My treatment was also full on and aggressive as it was preparing me to go into Stem Cell Transplant, yes the first was a shock to the body and a voyage of dust. But I did find the subsequent 5 treatments better as my body was in a better place and less shocked.
There have been a good number on R&B or B&R so let’s look for them to pick up on your post…… you can as always use the search tool near the top and search PeTREA although I only got a few hits but many hits on R&B or B&R and hit reply to see if the folks are still looking in.
Thanks Mike thanks for all your input and knowledge its a real help and will look out for any threads ON R&B etc
I did BR too and found the same with the nausea. I got into full remission after two cycles but did all six, albeit with the 6th being cut short to just the first day because my bone marrow was suffering with my platelets taking a dive.
Hi there thanks for the info, in for my 2nd cycle on the 23rd. The nausea first time was relentless but will be better prepared this time! Encouraging that after 2 cycles you were in remission and hope all is well for you now.
I had first cycle as Bendamustin one a day for two days.
Followed by Thursday pretreatment then Rituximab over 6 hours, flush and Benda over 1 hour, all told 8 hour day.
Followed Friday by one Bendamustin.
Next is 30th 31st December is 5th cycle. After 3rd, white cell count and neutrophils dipped to 0.5 so has a course of 5 injections at home to rebuild.
Have had couple of bouts of feeling sick but tablets given during cycle have worked.
I have tolerated Both chemo quite well, at one cycle, Retux ws pushed yhrough over 3.5 hours, instead of the 6.
I seem to have developed neuropathy .
