Hi all
I'm new to this, my dad having recently been diagnosed with a follicular lymphoma (NHL). Its stage 4, concentrated mainly around one of his kidneys and the urethra. He has had one round of chemo and is due to have the next this week. He has been in severe pain the last few days and has started taking oral morphine. Now he appears unable to pass urine. He gets the urge but can't go. Has anyone else experienced this?
Many thanks
Steph
Hi Steph and welcome to our corner of the Big Mac Community.
Sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis of Follicular Lymphoma.
The problems your dad is having may well be down to how his Lymphoma is reacting to the treatment - I would strongly advise you To try and talk with his team just to keep them informed.
Is he drinking lots? as this and passing fluids is the best way to protect his kidneys.
You will see from my profile that my massive mass was in my neck and the pain was way off the scale so was on very strong pain meds that only helped in some ways and the pain indeed lasted all the way through treatment and out the other side....... the mass had damaged muscles and nerves.
It always helps to put some information in your profile as this can help a lot. Click here to see how to add details as this helps everyone to see a little about you and how best to reply to you.
((hugs)) from a safe distance.
Thanks Mike. He spoke to his team and is being looked after. Appreciate your response.
Steph
