I'm new to the website. My mum was diagnosed before Christmas. Lytic legions, high calcium and started chemo before Christmas. I went with her to her chemo appointment last week and they told me the name of the drugs and treatment. After checking the GP letters and the blood results she seems to be stage 1 thank God.
She is very positive but doesn't want to know the details of the treatment so I felt very much in the dark until I read the Macmillan booklet on Myloma. Just waiting to see what support we can give her and what the best steps may be for this diagnoses.
She's still on cycle 1 and no mention of radiology or stem cell treatment.
hello im very sorry to hear about your mum .my wife is now on her 4th week of chemo there are going to be good days and bad days as the treatment progresses .all i can say is be there for your mum and any help you are offered accept it as its going to be tough on your family too ..is your mum in pain atm ? please keep us informed of your mums progres .
Thank you for your message spreader. So sorry to hear about your wife's diagnoses too.
She is in less pain this week that the last few months. The morphine was taking over an hour to "kick in" so it was so hard to see her try to move and go to appointments. Back spasms too which may be a side effect, not as many now, the nurses noted it down. She's very tired this week but eating. We are just keeping her comfortable. I will keep.you posted.
