Hi I’m new to the group. I’m currently on cycle 3 of VDT treatment. Looking to have  my SCT early next year.

  • Hi  and welcome to this corner of the Community although always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike  and I help out around our blood cancer groups but more specifically our dedicated Stem cell transplant group that I see you joined.

This would be a good place to talk with others who have walked the SCT journey.

Happy to talk more at any time.

Hi Mike thanks for introducing yourself. I will be having my SCT in Blackpool Hospital in Lancashire in January or February next year. I’m due to have 4 cycles of VDT that will take me to the end of December. I’ve read bits about the transplant but I suppose everyone goes through it differently.

  • Hi again Sara , yes each SCT journey can be so different. I had two Allo (donor) SCTs June 2014 then Oct 2015 and both were completely different (see my profile) but eventually I found remission in Sep 2016.

Do have a look through the discussions in the SCT group but you may want to have a look at this thread SCT Success Stories as it will give you a overview of some members stories.

Are you having an Auto SCT where your clean Stem Cells will be harvested and eventually given back it an Allo (donor) SCT?
