My Dad has been diagnosed with the above about 6 weeks ago. He is currently wearing a ‘halo’ to support his neck.
He is undergoing chemo and radiotherapy.
secondary squamous cell carcinoma
it all happened so suddenly. I know that it is terminal but I need to know what to expect how this will affect him and family going forward?
I feel so shocked and lost
thank you in advance
Hi Go Westie,
I am really sorry to read about your Dad, I can only imagine how all of this must be such a terrible shock. I don’t know much about squamous cell carcinoma unfortunately, but I do know that there are many good treatments for myeloma and I have come across lots of people who have really improved their health once treatment for myeloma has started and so I am really hoping the same for your Dad. In terms of what to expect, it is so difficult to say as in myeloma the response to treatment can be very individual but I am very much hoping that once the treatment kicks in that your Dad will start to feel better within himself and the position with his spine will start to improve.
Here’s wishing you and your Dad all the very best
Greg
