Hi everyone, just wondered if any of you can help me. I have MM, had a SCT and been 18 months in remission however I have terrible neuropathy in my feet and lower legs which I think I cope ok with. That's is the only side effect I have had thru all my treatment which I think is Fantastic after reading your posts but one of my ankles has dark bruising all the way round. I have mentioned this to my consultant who has also looked at it but didn't seem unduly worried. It seems to me to be getting slower worse and I wondered if you have any thoughts on this please. X
Hi. Bunky. Vespa here. A. K. A. Kevin like you I have neuropathy feet. Legs. Occasionally my finger tips Pain I manage with pregabalin I bruise easily and t takes a long time to heal with blue bruise marks their for weeks ! Are you able to exercise a little. Walks etc ? I guess it’s part of the M. M. Blood cancer. Are you getting regular blood tests done ?
Hi Vespa, yes I take 600 mg of pregablin daily, 300 am 300 pm which is a high dose but the numbness is terrible. I do have regular bloods and so far so good! I don't go for walks much as I'm quite unsteady on my feet but I do look after my grandchildren regularly and let me tell you, they run me ragged but I do love having them. Thank you for replying, it means a lot to know others are the same as me. Every day is a blessing. Take care.
Hi Bunky,
I don't get bruises and dark patches on my anhles - I get them on my wrists! Since ankles and wrists are a bit similar, - just as feet and hands are similar - I thought it worth mentioing.
In my case, the best guess cause is low blood platelets. Normally the bruises/marks come and go harmlessly.
A few months ago one was where I wear my watch. One morning, I noticed a drop of blood seeping out drom under the watchstrap, took my watch off and found a ring of blood around my wrist! The blood from the bruise had come out and been trapped by the strap: it looked like a scene from a horror film!
Bit of a shock, no harm done, but learned my lesson.
Hi Chicken, no I haven't had anything like that happen but I guess with all the medication I take anything is possible. I take 14 different pills alongside my Lenolidomide every day so I guess it's got to have some effect on your body but hey, if they keep me in remission that's fine by me Thanh you for your reply. Hope you are ok.
