Hi all, just been offered stemcell transplant and after reading what's involved, not to sure if to go ahead all seems abit scary for the possibility of no prolonged life.if there anyone else been through this treatment it would be good too hear from you instead of the medical opinions. Good or bad experience
Hi Little G I don't have Myeloma but have had two Stem Cell Transplants (SCT) for my type of blood cancer and without them I would not be talking with you today. Yes it all sounds very scary when you read and hear about it but talking with folks who have walked the walk can help and you will find out its all very do-able.
Lets see if any of the Myeloma group members who have had SCT are looking in to give you their thoughts.
We do have our dedicated Stem cell transplant group. The SCT group is a good place to talk with other from many different blood cancer types who have one thing in common- walking the SCT journey.
Do join the group and then introduce yourself and your husband by putting up a new post by clicking in the box near the top right with + New (Computers) or + (Mobile Devices). You will then see a dropdown menu so why not hit ‘Start a Discussion in New here, say hello’. You can also search through existing ‘Discussions’ and click [reply] if you want to put up a comment
I will keep an eye open for you in the SCT group.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
