Hi - my mum has spinal myeloma. She had 4 radiation treatments prior to Xmas and was managing the pain pretty well on 2x tramadol a day. Then she had a break over Xmas. Then had a final radiation on 29th December. Her pain intensified and the consultant recommended paracetamol and liquid morphine if needed. So she took one dose of the morphine very early morning on the 30th and she was really good on the 30th in the day. Then this morning around 5am, she took another morphine dose. And then from around 7am this morning, everything went downhill. Much more back pain and the severe stomach pain, which she never had before. In the end I called an ambulance. I thought it was a reaction to the morphine. She will see the oncologist tomorrow morning and the hospital is telling me that they have the pain now under control.
anyone had a similar experience with this stomach pain? Is this from radiation or from the morphine?
thanks
Hi Searlegirl welcome to the forum . I think you have done exactly the right thing for your mum and if she is seeing the Oncologist in the am then they should be able to tell you more then. Are you able to give them a call and speak to them about your mum after they have seen her?.
Sorry not to have been of more help for you at this time.
Sending best wishes meantime xx
