To suddenly realise that you are not, as your middle-aged children have always thought, immortal is taking some getting used to, but, hey Ho, accept it for what it is . Cheerful comments from other sufferers will be welcomed 

  • Everyone is entitled to feeling low and the realisation that this life is not a ‘given’ that everyone makes it to a grand old age where the Queen sends a telegram….

    Maybe I have a funny way of looking at it (and trust me there are days I struggle to believe it too), but each day you get through where you know you are surrounded with love and you can see the positives are good days.

    You shouldn’t compare, but I like to remind myself that I’m a lot better off than some with family, love, support and other factors that make life a bit more stable, aside from this hanging over me. 

    Keep that fight mentality and smile as much as you can. (Again, I have to remind myself too!) you are not alone. X

  • Hi golfing grandad. When were you diagnosed?  Its very strange to begin with. We ran off to europe and visited war graves!!!!  Family ones!!!!  Didn’t think i’d make christmas, here i am 15 years later a lump of concrete in my chest but still here!
