Hello all, I was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma last October. Since then I have had three sessions of immunotherapy but this has been stopped because of side effects. Oncologist has now recommended I shift to chemo and, after much thought, I have agreed. First treatment is in three weeks time - I am to be given carboplatin and pemetrexed. I realise side effects vary from person to person and I am not anticipating a pleasant experience but does anyone have any specific experiences/suggestions they would like to to share? Thanks

Hi, afraid I cant help re your Chemo question but would be interested in what side effects stopped your immunotherapy ? Mine was liver. Paul

Hello, mainly it was excessive tiredness but also damage to thyroid, DD

Ahh the thyroid. Tiredness would have been worth it, but thyroid !

Hi yes, thyroid now underactive but Levothyroxine has helped.

Hello, hope the chemo is going as good as it can. My husband a lot of chemo and just rested for 3 days after, but we had to get special nausea pills. Not the pills they give you when you starts as they did not work. It was a much larger pill we got, very expensive so they only give if you are struggling. These help so much
