Hello, my mum was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October last year, my sister and I are pretty much in the dark as what to expect, mum has been given less than a year, she has declined any treatment as she is 81 and would prefer time with her family rather than treatment of which I don’t think her body would cope with, we just don’t know what to expect next, any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Hi Jenni70 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read about your mum's diagnosis, it must be a very difficult time for you and your sister.
I can't help with how mesothelioma will progress, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet.
If you don't get any replies from other members of the group, does your mum have a cancer nurse specialist (CNS), sometimes referred to as a keyworker or Macmillan nurse, assigned to her? If so, if your mum gives her permission to her hospital team, you could speak to the CNS who will be best placed to give you some idea about progression.
Sending virtual (((hugs)))
Thank you so much for your reply, she does have a nurse and that sounds like the best idea, thank you x
