Hi Everyone , anyone have bad depression episodes after chemo.

I suffer badly from it after about 3 weeks from last chemo.

How do you cope if you do?

  • Hi Antonio02

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing bad depression after your chemotherapy.

My chemotherapy was for endometrial cancer in 2022 and I did find that going through it can certainly affect your mood. I also found the high doses of steroids affected me as well.

Have you spoken to your hospital about how you are feeling? You likely have a 24 hour phone number to call whilst you are having chemo and it may be an idea to give them a call. Sometimes they can give reassurance over the phone but sometimes they can also adjust your doses and give medication to help. You could also give your CNS or GP a call.

If you are feeling low and need support at other times please consider giving NHS 111 a call.

I hope that you have support around you? If it would help why not give the Macmillan Support Line a call and talk things through. There is someone there from 8am-8pm each day.
