Hi thanks for stopping by. My dad was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma in June this year started immunotherapy 2 drug regimen every three weeks in August. He had first scan in November and he’s had call today they are stopping treatment as the cancer has grown it’s not working. I am completely broken by this news. We had our fears as dads symptoms have been getting worse but didn’t know if was the meso or side effects of the treatment. He has felt more breathless, stomach pain ( now told it’s the meso in there) tenderness across abdomen, shaking feeling inside. Chest feels tight, no appetite. Constipation. They will discuss chemo has anyone had a similar course where treatment didn’t work for immunotherapy but chemo did shrink it. It all feels a big blow and to now know only works in up to 30% of patients was devastating. Also is there any medicine to help with these symptoms and ill feeling?
thank you
