My dad was diagnosed with Meso in the summer and has undergone immunotherapy treatment. He’s just had his first CT scan and the doctors in Bristol are saying the treatment isn’t working so therefore they are stopping. He was offered chemo but because he felt pretty rotten with immuno he’s decided to decline as they are indicating it’s not likely to increase his life by very long anyway.
Has anyone seeked a second opinion? Unfortunately I have some close friends that have not had not had the best treatment from the oncology from Bristol so I am having difficulty trusting this decision. It seems very soon to stop treatment, from my understanding in August it was in one small area in my dad’s left lung.
Hi Meso warrior and welcome to the community but sorry to hear about you dad.
I don't normally post in this group even though I do have asbestosis - my main battle is my incurable blood cancer...... but let's look for any group member with experience to help you out.
You may find this link Getting a Second Opinion to be helpful as you explore the second opinion option.
I would say get a second opinion, we did. Nothing to loose. How are things ?
