Hi

I'm new the group - was diagnosed back in October after a very protracted investigation. Has anyone had any issues with blood counts - either platelets or red cells? I was relieved to have my first immunotherapy back in December but this was paused as my platelet level dropped to almost 20 (apparently they were low even before I had my first treatment). Its been a worrying couple of months with no treatment while they get to the bottom of it, so currently having to have immunoglobulin infusion a week before and now about to start a course of chemo. I find the twists and turns difficult but just have to see how I respond and move on!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't have the experience you're looking for, although my bloods weren't right for my first week of chemotherapy for a different type of cancer and I know what a worry it is hoping that the following week will be okay.

I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet so responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
