My Melanoma journey started in 2012 as a Stage 3 BRAF positive when there were no licenced treatments for Stage 3.
I became Stage 4 in 2017 and had a trial of Nivolumab plus another drug viz immunotherapy.
Immunotherapy was successful in terms of removing the melanoma but caused severe entero problems.
In May, 2019 the cancer was back with a vengeance and I began Dabrafenib / Trametinib which was very successful.
After 6 years on these drugs I am having a break to determine whether I am cured with very little info on the risks I am taking.
I am seeking friends in the Macmillan community who have taken these drugs long term especially those folks who have then ceased or paused medium term.
Hi AussieJohn
I haven't had the drugs you mention but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
Wishing you all the best with whatever you decide to do.
Anne
