Skin graft donor site question

Hi mine took about 8 weeks before it stopped itching  I had mine done August  2023 and I can still see it now. The itching was so annoying.

My donor site was the top of my thigh (for a graft to my scalp).  I had a bit of an issue within the first couple of weeks after the op when the wound needed to be redressed, but the specialist burns nurses at the QE in Birmingham soon sorted me out, and thereafter I haven't had any problems (no itching either). I can't recall being told to moisturise the site, although I think they did suggest smearing the healed wound with Vaseline (which I guess is the same).

In terms of the donor site, I still have a paler patch of skin, and my op was approx. three years ago.
