Hi, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma in 2018. Primary was a lesion on my face which then showed up in my lungs. Treated with immunotherapy and no active signs of cancer since Jan 2020. Just diagnosed with lobular breast cancer with positive results in lymph node. Just wondering if there are others out there in situation where 2 different cancers have been diagnosed? MRI scheduled for 12th Jan so I don't have an agreed treatment plan as yet and experiencing episodes of panic.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll both find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Snap!! I was diagnosed with melanoma in 2016 and then breast cancer last year. I finished my treatment for breast cancer in January and currently appear to be cancer free.

It doesn't seem fair does it to have dealt with one cancer and then have to deal with a second.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnoses and treatments into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Thanks for that. I've now updated my profile so hope that helps someone

  • Hi I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer in may 2022 and then Melanoma in June 2022. Was quite a shock and was denied a sentinel node biopsy for Melanoma so I class myself as unstaged .Very unnerving. I had surgery X2 and radiotherapy Leterozole for breast cancer and WLE for Melanoma. I wish you well, hope good news from MRI

  • Hi. So sorry to hear of your experience. Having two diagnosis like this so close together must have been a real shock. Are you still being monitored following your treatment and if so has the treatment been successful so far?

  • Yes treatment appears to be successful for breast cancer I am due next mammogram in April. I have armpit ultrasound next week as I didn't have sentinel node biopsy for Melanoma and am now being seen 6 monthly. Hope you get good news on Friday x
