This is a forum I never expected to be participating in!
It’s been a bit of a roller-coaster over the last few months. From having what I thought was an innocuous small lump in my groin, I’ve been diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma. From zero to Stage3 in one go. I’m still perplexed that I’ve not been aware of any strange moles etc whilst the Consultant Dermatologist found nothing.
I sense that my situation is quite unique.
So sorry to hear that. You are not alone. I hope you can draw from the support of this group and other sources.
Like you I went from a skin colored lump on my heel to a deep melanoma in a few weeks. Waiting results for other tests. I was perplexed that I did not realize the danger of non pigmented lumps (and neither it seems did the dermatologist) . Found Australian research to say could account for 20% of melanoma cases.
Big hugs
Alison
