Hi I'm on melanoma survalliance for braf stage 3a!, And have had thyroid cancer, I just wondered if others have reduced working hours. Just having had cancers makes you think a bit different about life and work etc..especially when you have the worry that it may come back one day. I also get more tired then what I used to and may have a calcium problem due to thyroid removal.
Hi Miss mole
I had already stopped work before I was diagnosed so didn't have to make any decision about reducing hours.
I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again and hopefully others will pop on and share their experiences with you.

Hi Miss Mole,
I too am braf stage 3a, but I don't have thyroid cancer.
For me work gives me some focus and drive to get up and get on with stuff. Yes I now rattle with the targeted therapy drugs, but hey ho.
I guess its horses for courses. If you are questioning it then perhaps its a time for a change?
Hi I was on dabrafenib and trametinib but I only done 4 months because of side affects and finding thyroid cancer. How are you doing on them.
Hi I don’t have the same as you but I have Anal cancer. I worked 3 night a week and went down to two nights shortly after being diagnosed. My gp has now signed me of for 3 months as my treatment starts next week. If you are feeling very tired them I would reduce your hours if you can. Although I do have to say I am very bored and there is only so much housework to do. Take care of yourself
I don't seem to have any side effects (unless I am doing particularly well at ignoring them). What side effects did you suffer with?
I starting getting high temperature after a month and a bit from starting them, a cough, spots and rash on face and back, then I stopped them for a couple of weeks then after 6 weeks of restarting them had high temperature again, cough and when I had blood tests liver was grade 3 toxin. Then got stopped again, they did not restart them again because the finding of thyroid cancer. Hope I have not scared you, how long have you been taking them. Everyone is different so hopefully your be OK.
Miss Mole,
I am four weeks in. My first blood test is next week so I guess we will see what those results tell us.......
