Mri head scan just before surgery

Hi this may be a silly question. I got a MRI head scan with contrast 2 days before I have surgery for ovarian cyst,  when I booked for head scan I told them I got surgery, they said its fine before surgery. Has anyone else had a scan before surgery.  They said its ok so I guess it is. I think just worry to much and its awkward  when you have more then one health condition.

  • Hi

I haven't had a MRI head scan but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

    Wishing you all the best

  • Hi there.  I have not had that particular sequence but my comment is this.  With multiple brain MRI scans I have had, there are no injections or other parts of it that might in any way affect surgery.

Wishing you well in all things.

  • Thank you I'm sure it's OK, the booking team said it was OK,  they should know. I read your profile, sorry to hear you been through alot. My melanoma is stage 3a. I'm on surveillance scans. I was having adjuvant drugs Dab and trametinib at royal free hospital but only lasted 4 months due to side affect and finding thyroid cancer. I'm clear of everything at  moment, just ovarian cysts to be removed. All the best to you.
