How soon does immunotherapy start?

  • So loads of meetings /appointment ..had my op on April 9th , all lymph noes groin ur plus toe off Acral Melanoma stage 3c ...I am eager to just start immunotherapy though just appt for June 18th..is it usually 2 months post op ?

    im in Ireland so maybe it’s different here but I was told by my oncologist that there is a window of 10 weeks from date of surgery to beginning of immunotherapy..

    so 2months is probably about right

    Sorry to hear your news… yes it is usual to wait 2-3 months after surgery to allow your body time to heal before starting cancer treatment. That bit is hard though isn’t it - feels that you just want to get on and do something. Good luck with your recovery and treatment x
