Hi guys,
Just had a call from docs p.a asking me to go in to receive my results. She couldn't tell me anymore than that there had been a mdt meeting. Is this normal routene?? I thought I may have got a letter if everything was ok due to current covid restrictions.
Hi Lee84,
I don't think there is a standard to say you'd receive letter if it is negative. Different hospitals have different ways, even during covid. Where I was seen, I was given an appointment to meet the doctor two weeks later to discuss results regardless of the outcome of the biopsy. So I didn't know what to expect.
MDT meeting is a multidisciplinary meeting, meaning it was discussed with few doctors from different specialities. Again, I had negative results from WLE and SLNB, but still had to have a MDT meeting, to confirm that all docs were happy with the pathology result.
Sorry I am not much help, I hope your appointment is soon so you get your answers.
Hi Lee84
When I had my biopsy I was given an appointment almost immediately for about 4 weeks later so there was no way at that point the dermatologist would have known whether my results were going to be positive or negative. It was the hospital's protocol that they told you in person either way.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay. When is your appointment?
x
