Hi
Per my recent intro post, I had a mole removed for biopsy on the 5th and have been told it can be a 6 to 8 week wait for results. In the meantime my systems have escalated. I have a lump growing quickly on my back, two lumps on testicles (drs think they are cysts), a persistent cough and 3 hard fixed lymph nodes on the neck.
I worry that it's clearly cancer with spread and I'm just waiting time and it may be spreading more. gp has written to dermatology so it's on my notes for my results. Is there anything I should be doing to speed up the process? Should I get in touch with dermatology or is it just a waiting game.
Anyone in a similar situation before? I'm so scared.
Hi
It's natural to be scared that the mole you've had removed might turn out to be melanoma and that the other symptoms you've noticed are connected. We've all been there and know how worrying this can all be.
Can I ask if you had all these other symptoms before and, if so, did you mention them when you saw the dermatologist? You say that the doctors who have examined the lumps on your testicles think they are cysts. Is any further investigation being done to see if they are cysts?

Hi,
In the main i did not have them before the original mole was referred. I did have one hard lymph but put this down to a cold. Everything seemed to escalate after initial referal, also I was checking areas more. I mentioned the lymph to the dermo but she said let's wait til the biopsy.
The testicle cysts I've been referred to ultrasound. Nothing about the back lump, they just wrote to dermatology. It is growing though and started to cause muscle ache.
Ok, so you've been referred for an ultrasound to check out the cysts and the dermatologist is happy to wait for the results of your biopsy before examining the lymph nodes.
I think this just leaves your cough and the lump. As the cough is new and the lump has grown and started to cause you pain it would probably be a good idea to make an appointment to see your GP.
You will be more aware of your body since your referral but this shouldn't put you off seeing your GP if you have unexplained symptoms.
Let us know how you get on

Hi,
I did speak to the GP - they said largely they are not worried about lumps under 1CM (this is about 1CM maybe) but given the context of what else is going on they have written to derm. In terms of the cough, I mentioned it - they checked my lungs and O2 levels and all seemed fine. Said to keep an eye on it.
I guess it's a case of sit and wait now and I hope things don't get worse. Thank you for replying. It's just comforting hearing from someone. It can feel very lonely in this limbo period.
That sounds positive that your GP is not worried about your lump or cough but do go back to them if the cough doesn't clear up or the lump changes.
