Hi there,
I was diagnosed with Stage 2A melanoma last week, currently waiting for WLE and SLNB. They checked my lymph nodes a few times during the process and all were fine.
They removed the melanoma from near my right knee, and for the last 3-5 days the lymph nodes in both my armpits have been very swollen and really sore. Obviously the armpit lymph nodes are quite far away from the knee, but you fear the worst that it has spread.
Has anyone who’s had much experience with Stage 3/4 melanoma experienced painful swollen lymph nodes in other areas?
I’m speaking to the skin cancer nurse tomorrow to make an appointment.
Hi
I haven't had this happen but wondered how you got on when you spoke to your SCNS yesterday.

Hi latchbrook
Thank you for replying. She said it didn't sound like it was related and sounded more like a skin infection/bacterial infection of sorts. I went to my GP and they said the same after looking at it, so gave me some antibiotics for it.
That's good news !
It's easy to assume that anything we find wrong with our bodies is something to do with our cancer diagnosis, I know I do, but often it isn't and I'm glad to hear that that was the case for you.
