Hey all, new here. Could do with some support, maybe some answers from people who've been through the same.
I was referred by my GP on a two week referral for suspected melanoma under my toenail, only to be tpld by the Hospital that they dont do two week referrals ajd only do appointments by referal date. Which means im sharing a waiting list with every other dermatology patient in my area.
The waiting list is 26 weeks.
Im terrified and I dont understand why I've been put on the same waiting list as people who arent suspected of having cancer.
Hi SleepyRed and a very warm welcome to our corner of the online community.
It does seem strange that you've been told that you'll have a 26 week wait to see a consultant about a possible melanoma. I think in your position I'd get back in touch with my GP and explain to them what you've been told. Maybe your GP didn't tick the right boxes and it's been sent as a non-urgent referral.
Let me know how you get on
Anne
