How high is the risk sof pneumonitis in treating melanoma patient pre-existing ILD and IPF? I have declined the Keytruda so far b/c of the lung diseases.
I can change my mind if Ido so this week.
Hi Marty
I think you probably meant to post this in the melanoma group, which I can see you've joined.
You can either start a new post in the melanoma group, or I can ask one of the moderators to move this post to the group for you if you'd like me to.
Anne
move to post to the group I think I still do not understand how to access the forum and the responses I am only getting these notices from you but I don't know what to click to get to the forum
Hi
Ok, I'll ask the moderators to move the post for you.
To access the melanoma group click on your username, then select 'profile', then 'groups', then 'melanoma'.
To see your previous posts and any replies click on your username, then select 'profile', then 'activity' and this will show your posts and any replies you've had.
Anne
I got to the page where I could make a new post. Is that where I go to read possible replies?
Hi Marty
I have sent you some information which may be helpful.
If you need any further support, please don’t hesitate to email Community@macmillan.org.uk or send a private message to the Moderator account.
Hi Marty
My name is Steph, I'm part of the team who look after the Online Community here at Macmillan.
Although we have moved your post to the melanoma forum, our members have not been able to answer your question.
It sounds like you might be best asking your doctor or nurse this question, as it's one that can only really be answered by the team treating you.
For general advice and to talk everything through, you can also speak to a nurse on the Macmillan Support Line. Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00, email or live webchat.
Our members can't offer you medical advice, but they can share their experience and if they were affected by pneumonitis. Instead of asking questions about risk, you might want to ask if other members with similar pre-existing health conditions have been offered immunotherapy and what the outcome was.
As you have put lots of information in your profile, you could mention this in your post, so that others know where to look.
I hope this helps you find the answers that you're looking for.
thank you, Steph I have certainly questioned doctors until they are tired of me! If no one from the forum has answered, that would explain why I'm not finding any answers! I am not asking anyone to give medical advice per se, but I did wonder what experince someone else with similar pre-existing conditions might have encountered on Keytruda.
I have just felt I was not getting to the forum correctly. I do find "Activity" when I click on my icon, so maybe I am going to the right place afterall.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
