Hi
i have chosen to see a private dermatologist regarding a suspiosious skin lession. The dermatologist was concerned and chose to remove it. Still waiting on results. I chose to do this as the local NHS for skin cancer care is overloaded and I was told I would have to wait over a month to see anyone this was after I chased my referal after not hearing anything.
once I have the result and iif it turns out to be cancer I don’t have the funds to have full treatment in a private hospital. And would have to go back to the NHS. Can anyone advise how I go about this, or have been through this and can provide me some guidance
any advice would be great
thanks
Hi KTS1
I have had my hips replaced privately, and both times the consultant sent a letter to my GP with the initial diagnosis, and then the discharge letter confirming the operation etc. So a record should go back to your GP on what has been found. You could then make an appointment with your GP to get it taken forward, if appropriate.

I am a Macmillan volunteer.
I have metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in remission
I also saw a private dermatologist because of the waiting lists and she did my biopsy. When it was confirmed I had a melanoma she then referred me to the NHS for all further treatment. She gave me a letter to give to my GP. Since then I’ve had excellent care from the NHS.
