Had a mole biopsy done over 6 weeks ago and it still has a scab and is red around the site. Also feels tight. Should this be healed properly by now or should I be asking someone about it. Waiting for an appt for WLE and worried that if this is not healed it might cause problems.
Hi LadyBaba and a very warm welcome to the melanoma group although I'm sorry you've had to join us.
Mine had certainly healed within the timescale you mention so it would probably be a good idea to give your skin cancer nurse specialist (SCNS), sometimes referred to as a key worker or Macmillan nurse, a call. She can then arrange for you to be seen if she thinks you should be healed by now.
When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Thanks for replying. I seem to have broken the rules by posting a photo earlier. When my original post wasn’t on I thought I mustn’t have clicked post so put it on again. Just had an e mail saying it had been taken down because of the photo. Silly me !!
I think I might take your advice and ring the nurse about it as I think it should be healed by now. I’ve also done my profile as you suggested
I'm guessing the photo was of your wound site LadyBaba and, is so, that would have been the reason it was removed.
Thanks very much for updating your profile and I'm really sorry to read that you lost your husband to cancer a few years ago. I can totally understand why going to the hospital would bring back painful memories.
Let me know how you get on when you speak to your SCNS.
((hugs))
