Hi all,

had a biopsy on a mole 5 weeks ago, has been confirmed as Lentigo Malinga,  saw the consultant today, next step is to remove all the mole with a narrow margin due to location of mole. For this then to be tested to make sure no invasive melanoma is found.

just wondering has anyone else had something similar, is it normal for them to test for invasive melanoma after a lentigo maligna found on some of the mole.

After 5 weeks of worry, I had hoped it will be the end once removed but now feel I’m going to have more weeks of worry that the remaining may come back as invasive.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 9 years ago so understand the weeks of worry waiting for results.

Although I don't have any experience with lentigo maligna I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've had a look through the group and found these posts which mention it for you to have a look through.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
