So my dad has been diagnosed with melanoma cancer in the pancreas and started this treatment, 1st lot went well with no side effects other then feeling tired however 2nd lot ( yesterday) there was an allergic reaction and they had to stop treatment mid way , is this uncommon? And does anyone from there own personal experience know what the next steps our - all we have been told so far is that we will hear from a doctor within 2 weeks with nexts steps .
Hi Bobbydog and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your dad had to have his immunotherapy treatment halted due to an allergic reaction.
I don't have any experience with immunotherapy but there are lots of people in the group who are either on it or have had it. If you could let us know the name of the immunotherapy your dad is on, you'll hopefully get people who are on it coming forward to share their experiences with you.
It would be great if you could pop something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
