Hello,
I had Stage 3a melanoma 3 years ago: it spread to lymph nodes in groin. They were removed. I had Targeted Therapy (Dab + Tram). I did have to break the Targeted treatment after 6 months, because they found a Stage 1b breast cancer, which was cleared up nicely. However, I found out today there is melanoma growing in groin lymph nodes AND lymph up near my diaphram. I'll get my treatment plan next week. However, I'm really worried because it has spread. It can't be 'cut out' with surgery anymore. I'm worried too it will spread further. Does anyone have experience of a recurrance and then being cured completely? I guess I'm worried that this treatment won't work - because the last treatment 'didn't work' - and I'm worried it will all spread and become Stage 4. Any reassurance possible? Take care, Dots
Hi Dots
It sounds like you've been through an awful lot and I'm sorry to read that your melanoma has come back again.
I don't have the experience you're looking for but I know there are lots of people in the group who, like you, are stage 3. Hopefully, they will see this post now it's been 'bumped' back to the top of the discussion list.
