Hello all
I'm new here. I saw my GP Monday about an existing mole which has grown, bled and got crusty. There’s also a new mole like growth next to it. The GP took photos using a magnifying glass and sent them for advice to dermatology service. They then came back to recommend a 2week referral. I’m going to hospital tomorrow for more pictures and EDerma AI assessment. I can’t find much online about it so was wondering if anyone else had this? From what I can tell online it’s a fairly new system to triage most effectively without waiting for a doctor if it’s unnecessary. My question is if it comes out clear, will I get told tomorrow? I’m going on holiday Saturday so would be good to know if I do get the all clear.
Thanks
Penny
Hi
I’ve accessed my results today on nhs app. Says ‘ left mole suspicious of MM, right atypical naevus’ due to dimensions best excised en bloc by plastics’. I have a follow up phone call scheduled with a nurse next Wednesday but feel bit worried but better to be in the know hey
Hi Penny,
how long did it take for you to see the results on the app? I have just had an appointment 7 days ago for the same - dermoscopy and photo for AI - but still have not heard anything and there’s nothing in my NHS app or hospital online portal, no result, no upcoming appointment etc.
I hope you have all results by now after having your biopsy. all the very best!
Hi
My results were on the app around a week later the hospital appt for photos. They were contained in my medical records and within the document, but no one actually told me, just cancer is a possibility. Thanks, had the removal last Monday, not pleasant but pleased it’s done. They said biopsy results will be 8-12 weeks though so have a long wait. Hope you can access yours soon
Thanks so much for replying. Fingers crossed for your biopsy! Yes, it must be at least some relief to have the removal done. 8 to 12 weeks seems like a very long time for biopsy results. I really hope you get to hear from them a bit sooner.
Thanks, I thought is a very long wait too! But can’t do anything to change it so it’ll be what it is. Hope you get some answers soon, from what I’ve read online the AI is very efficient for melanoma detection
