Is anyone else on a long waiting list for WLE and SLNB? I’ve been told it’s at least 5 months and, to be honest, I’m worried about waiting that long. Am i overthinking it all?
Can they have a look at another hospital list see if it's a shorter waiting time. Ring the consultants secretary or ring mcmillan support it's worth a try.
I was diagnosed with stage 2c melonoma at the end of Jan this year. Within a week I saw a specialist nurse, then 5 days later saw Plastic Surgeon. CT scan arranged for Feb with WLE being arranged for mid Feb. Ct scan showed up a suspect sentinel node so told op would be delayed until ultrasound and biopsy done. Having this on Thursday, 2nd March. They then expect surgery about 2 weeks after results. I consider myself very lucky having everything being done so quickly. Possibly not living in a big city helps, although I have to travel to Exeter for the op.
