Hi I'm new I'm worried iv just had a big mark on my back removed and was disnosed with melanoma and then had another skin operation that was hard has time 14 stitchs and this time 28 stitchs and inturnel ones this is so painful and the cold weather is horrible for it I'm more worried about the results waited 7 weeks so far how long does it take to get results to see if its spread thank you shirlox

I definitely agree that waiting for results is really horrible and 7 weeks does seem like a long time to wait. Unfortunately there is no hard and fast rule as to how long biopsy results take to be reported back to your consultant from when they are sent off to the pathology laboratories. A lot depends on how busy the labs in your area of the country are.
When you had your surgery you should have been given a contact number to phone if the results weren't back within the timescale you were told. Has the time that you were told you should get your results passed? If so give the number a call and they should be able to tell you if your results are back or chase them up for you.
