Hi everyone just wondering if anybody could give me some advice please?
im stage 3 spread to lynthnodes and awaiting results of a pet scan as they think it may have spread to my spine due to a shadow they have found on a previous scan
fir a couple of weeks now I have been in terrible pain in my upper and lower back and across my shoulders pain killers do help but everywhere I’ve looked I can’t seem to find anybody with this problem
my cancer started from my left ear
tumor is on my neck left side the size of a tennis ball

any advice or knowledge would be a blessing
thank you
Hi Andyy13 I had back pain before I got my diagnosis that my melanoma had spread to near my spine I was initially told I needed an operation to strengthen my spine. I didn’t like the idea of an operation and was instead started on the dam trab tablets. I took them for 7 months and the tumours disappeared near my spine and lungs. I then had ipi and Nivolumab and now after 2 years I am on just Nivolumab. Most of my tumours have gone or are dead . I am not in any pain. I fact as soon as I started the treatment the pain started to go so hope when you get the results of the scan you will be able to get the appropriate treatment. I was initially given codene to help with the pain and it worked for me but I know it doesn’t agree with everyone. I wish you all the best with your treatment ,
My pain was quite bad. I remember my husband driving down the motorway to Devon and I was suddenly doubled up leaning against the dash board. It wasn’t there all the time and I also at the time didnt know it was melanoma. We continued our holiday but I did feel weak and ill. I also lost my appetite. I have just been for treatment this morning and then managed a two mile walk along the river. Please feel free to ask me anything during your treatment.
So sorry to hear your awful news. No wonder you had such bad back ache. I hope they sort your treatment out and it starts to work.
Hi
I'm really sorry to read your latest news. It's not what any of us wanted to hear.

Hi Andyy13, so sorry to here your news, I hope your hospital has got your pain under control. I’m hoping your wait for results and treatment starting is not too long. I’ve found that period between bad news and starting treatment one of the most challenging, I’m hoping you’re getting your head around things and moving forward with hope and strength.
Take care KT
If you're still with us Andy, please feel the support of everyone on this board. I feel horrified at what you were thrown into so quickly, it could happen to any of us. If you are able to, please let us know how you are doing.
