Hi,

  • I've been diagnosed with lung cancer , I have had all my scans and lung function test , I am currently awaiting an appointment with the consultant.  Since finding out , I can't eat , feeling nausea all the time . I'm not sure if the aches and pains in my back are cancer related or down to stress, worry, and anxiety.  I sleep well,  other than waking up early to the realisation of it all. I try to tell myself to get a grip , but I really am struggling.  Thankyou

  • I really feel for you , and this could have been written by me . My nightmare started in Nov after going for a routine lung CT scan . Was told o had a nodule on right upper lobe, then had to have a pet scan , lung function test , and echocardiogram . Was told it was very likely to be cancer and as it was in early stage an operation would be the best route to take . Was devastated but somehow came to terms with it. Had to have a CT scan with contrast on 30th Dec.. The last scan showed dots on my liver, so last Thursday I had an MRI with contrast and am now awaiting results .. it has completely set me right back to square one, and like yourself, I have no appetite and cannot sleep. I am petrified . It’s totally surreal and I dread seeing that hospital number when my phone rings .. I honestly do get where you are coming from, I dread waking up from sleep cos the fear starts all over again .. I hope you start to feel better . There are lots of people on here and it helps to take advice and know that we aren’t alone . Best wishes to you x

  • Jnet, I'm just out of surgery last November for my lung "C". Still a little sore but nothing really. It was my second surgery, my first was April 03 for bowel "C". I'm guessing your aches and pains are stress. I didn't feel anything. I suppose it was because I was used to the procedure. Try to take some comfort from knowing you are with friends who have all been through it. Keep us informed of your progress. Try to relax It's nothing new. We all wish we hadn't been there but here we are friends.

  • Hi ,

I'm sorry to hear this for you.

All the scans and tests seem to be completed , so quick . Then we're left dangling , but I'm sure things must be happening in the background . Trying to stay positive lasts for a few minutes then back to anxiety. Hopefully we can support each other through this , and as you say we're definitely not alone x

    • Ahh I hope you have a speedy recovery and enjoying life again. This group of friends is amazing,  how we support each other,  and know how we're feeling . The positives from yourself give great vibes. I hope and prey this is your final brush with 'C'
