I have cancer on both lungs, first which was my right was diagnosed in late July left diagnosed early September. Only treatment plan so far is to remove upper lobe of right... haven't seen an oncologist as of yet. Is this normal?
All treatment plans vary. Depends on age, how fit you are. Mine was upper left lobe and was removed. Surgeon then passed me to Oncologist. After about s6 weeks after op I had 4 rounds chemo. When that finished I had CHART at Mt Vernon. This involved staying at the hospital as the radiotherapy given 3 times a day for 12 days. You may need to push, contact surgeons secretary find out what was discussed at MDT meetings. If they are not helpful try Consultant Respiratory secretary. Ring MacMillan/lung nurses at treating hospital. I have found secretaries ver helpful. Do you have someone supportive who can attend all meetings, ask questions and remember what is said. I have a pad write day, date who was in attendance, your list of questions and room for your supporter to write answer. Take it to every consultation. I wish you well on this bloody awful rollercoaster.
