Hi, my grandma is 80 and was recently taken into hospital due to being very breathless and feeling unwell. In the last couple of weeks she has had an X-ray and CT scan. We have been told she has pneumonia and lung cancer which was quite a shock.
She is still in hospital with pneumonia, she also has COPD she is awaiting her MDT meeting but hopefully they will have it this week. We are worried they will not offer her any treatment as she is older and already quite weak. Does anybody have any experience with this? Can they say they will not do anything?
she has been complaining of pain in her shoulder and increased breathlessness for months but we fear they have missed a cancer diagnosis earlier despite her having x-rays and CT scans prior to the ones in the last couple of weeks.
Apart from breathlessness and aches and pains (she also has arthritis so this might not be linked to the cancer) she has no other symptoms is this a good sign that the cancer is in an earlier stage or is everybody different?
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
