Hello everyone. I am a never smoker who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a year ago. Turns out I’m ALK+ which in turn means the cancer has metastasized in my brain.
it has been a difficult year to say the least. Just wondering how other people with ALK+ are coping??? Life has changed completely but on a day to day basis I find the constant fatigue hard to deal with…
Hi, my daughter has ALK + diagnosed earlier this year also non smoker etc. we are still trying comes terms with it as going from a normal life to having stage 4 cancer is such a shock. The ALK positive UK group are very supportive group you might not have heard of them. My daughter also struggles with the fatigue, it’s so challenging, have you spoken with onc nurse?
Hi,
Thanks for replying! I know, one minute leading a full and hectic life and the next day being a patient. I did speak with the onc nurse and I think it’s about coming to terms with how much life has changed and that even small activities drain me. I keep thinking I need to push myself harder instead! I’m on Lorlatanib and I believe that also causes fatigue.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
