Hi everyone,
Thought I would say hi to everyone who is suffering with melanoma and lung cancer. I am Roy, 64, and been given up to 6 months to live. My breathing is not brilliant and I spend a lot of time asleep. I have had 2 operations to remove melanoma and just finished 18 months of immunotherapy at Exeter RDE. After this time the treatment was not doing its job and so was stopped. I was then offered Ipilimubab which lasts for 4 weeks, but the side effects can be life threatening leaving you with hepatitis, plus side effects than can affect different organs in the body in an extremely negative way, so said no thank you. I am not having any treatment now but going to try to enjoy what time I have left.... if I can encourage anyone just let me know..

Hi Roy welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. That is one big decision to make, whether to continue treatment, or enjoy the time left. This has been discussed a lot on the Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only
which you may want to join, as there are several people like yourself there who have been told there is no further treatment for them, or have decided not to continue.

Thank you, yes I think the life threatening alternative made my decision easier..
