Hi i was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and lung cancer within 2 weeks of each other. Fast forward I have now had hysterectomy for endometrial cancer and all good with no more treatment recommended. Had lobectomy for lung cancer 3 weeks ago and now they say it is in lymph nodes and recommend chemo. I am so scared of the chemo and all the side effects I have read about. I really thought I would get the same result as the endometrial cancer. Still very sore after surgery. Just confused and very scared.
Hi Rose, Hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family.
We had Christmas at my daughter Kim's new house and it was lovely. All my side of the family was there except my daughter in Uk. My daughter here, Kim had her baby 5th May, a beautiful little girl, Ivy Ereanne. I believe Ereanne is Irish. They are doing well and my other daughter N icole came over with her daughter, Ellie for the birth. We got to spend a lovely Easter at my nieces house with all the family on Easter Friday as it was my sister's 78th birthday. I think she really enjoyed the day.
Sadly her husband rang today to say he had to call an ambulance for her as her breathing had deteriorated more. She is at the Alfred hospital where she had her double lung transplant 10 and half years ago. I don't think she has long left. She is on morphine for pain and they say it helps with the breathing but she doesn't seem to think it does. I am waiting for an update from her husband.
It is very sad, I don't quite know what to say to her. I am praying that she doesn't suffer too much.
Let me know how you are doing.
My last checkup for the endometrial cancer was ok and muy last ct for the lung cancer was ok too.
Bye for now

Hello Shas,
Lovely to hear from. Glad to hear that your Easter celebrations went well and your grandchild is born. So nice to have a spring baby.
Sorry to hear that your sister is unwell but sounds as though she is in good hands and receiving care, which means allot.
Good that your cancer reviews are all clear.
I hope to see my Oncologist shortly, as I may complete the last 4 mths of my adjuvant oral treatment. I had to stop it in March, as I had Covid and then a reaction to a hypertensive med I was on, so ended up in hospital twice. It all got the better of me and I just needed a break. Will see if she thinks if she thinks it worthwhile or not, to restart it.
Feeling allot stronger and still do volunteer gardening, yoga & singing classes.
Will keep in touch.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for your reply. My sister passed away on the 8th April. We were at her side until the last few hours. I will miss her deeply.
I know time heals, but it is so hard. My daughter and her husband are planning to take their baby to Ireland in september to be baptised. Her husband has a lot of relatives there and his family could meet Ivy. My daughter in the UK is pressing me to go too. I am not sure at this stage Who knows maybe we could meet up. Keep in touch

Hello Shas,
So sorry to hear of your loss.My thoughts are with you at this time.It has been a lifelong relationship and it will take time, but you have likely so many happy memories to recall, which is a comfort.
What a lovely thought of travelling over here to Ireland & the UK to see your daughter in September and as long as I am here, I would love to meet up!!!
We were thinking of booking a break in September for afew weeks in Canada but it all depends on my health. I see my Consultant next week, to see if I will do afew more months of adjuvant therapy. Will let you know.
But please travel, if you are able. I cannot wait to travel and it sounds as though your family want you to come and love to see you & they enjoy your company. When we can we should, I believe.
Be kind to yourself at this difficult time.
