Hi everyone I am 10 months on from half left lung removal 29th October 2020, couldn't have chemotherapy due to not being well enough at the time,  can't get back to normal,  still feel very flat in mood , any one else have this , are you still OK..thank you  in advance for reply x

  • Hi Margie1122 welcome to the group, but sorry you have found yourself here.  I think it is natural to feel flat. You have been through a huge ordeal, it is traumatic to be told you have cancer and then have to have half your lung removed. It will be very strange to just jump back into normal life as if nothing had happened.

I haven't had the same treatment as you, I had radiotherapy and I am now on hormone treatment, but it is hard to try and act normal sometimes. Especially as I don't look ill. I look different than I did pre treatment, but I don't look ill. My whole life is completely different to how it was before, and it has taken me a long time to adjust. But I still have days when I get very frustrated, because I can't do certain things any more, and I'm always breathless.  But the alternative is unthinkable, so I carry on, as we must, and try and appreciate each day.

There are a couple of people on the group who have had removal of their lung or part of their lung. Hopefully someone else will also be along soon to talk to you about this.

    Take care x
