Hi there, I was diagnosed two days ago, and have already chosen lobectomy surgery.... So at least I've got the ball rolling. Problem is, this feels like it's happening to somebody else. Weird. I'm worrying about being unable to do Xmas shopping!
Although I've been calm and unworried (can't change the outcome!) during all tests and scans, suddenly I feel all wobbly and strange, such that normal life (which needs to continue for a few weeks) is feeling difficult. Guess this this normal, maybe even shock?

Hi Rana
welcome to the group but I am sorry you have had to join us here. Everything you have described is normal. When I was diagnosed, I too felt like it was happening to somebody else, and I was watching, it was very odd. I don’t think anyone can know the stress and anxiety from a diagnosis, unless you experience it yourself. It can make you feel very unwell, and make you question what is going on with your own body. This will calm down in time, and you learn to live with your new normal.
The people here in this group will know what you are going through, so do please come and share your thoughts and feelings. You can also call the MacMillan support line on 0808 808 00 00. They are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
