Hi, I'm looking for some guidance of expectations and next steps. We found out last week that my dad has cancer, and there are masses on his lung, liver and kidneys. He's not been given a stage
He's been fast tracked to a Thoracic appointment on Friday but we aren't sure if this will give us the answers we want. Is this normal procedure? I know how busy hospitals are currently but we were hoping so much to have answers about treatment plans and what we can do.
Hi Logan EC
its hard when we are waiting for information but the problem with a cancer diagnosis is that each cancer is so different so until they give you more information and set a treatment plan in place there isn’t much you can do but what I will say is that treatments have come such a long way in recent years.
once your dad has his treatment plan you will I believe feel better.
do let us know how it goes and ask any questions. Everyone is here for support
Hi, my mum has just been diagnosed as well. She had a biopsy and received the results along with information about the type of cancer and staging, the treatment plan follows on from that so if you've got an appointment booked I'm sure you will find out then. Our nursing team have been fantastic so you can always call and ask them.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
