Hi - I'm new to here, having  just been diagnosed with NET on lung which will require a lobectomy - still waiting to hear if any metastasis or others elsewhere...Just wanted to reach out and connect at the start of what I already know will be a journey, one way or another...

Hope you are all having a good day -

  • Hi Katmum

You have come to the right place, I have a different cancer which is life limited and I have found this site brilliant for support from others with all sorts of lung cancers. I have a CT scan on the 13th to see if radio has helped or if I have any spread and it is very nerve wrecking waiting for the results. Hopefully you will get good news and can have it taken away, thinking of you and hugs coming your way Jean xxx

    Hi GrumpyNana,

Thanks for your reply :) I hope your CT scan goes well and the results are good -

Yes, it is the waiting that's slightly getting to me - I was supposed to have a PET scan this coming week, but there's a hold-up due to covid so I'm hoping for a cancellation at this point in order for my next appointment to be able to go ahead...if there is just the one tumour on my lung, they should be able cut it out. Fingers crossed!

Again, thank you for replying, and sending hugs back x

  • Hi

It's a pain when you know you need a scan and there's a hold up getting it but they are normally very quick in getting it done. Are you having a biopsy done after the Pet scan or is that it, only asking just to reassure you that it's not that bad just a little discomfort I was more in pain with my back because you have to lie on your belly and not move.

    1. Let's hope you get the news it's one lump only, keep in touch and let me know the results and if you just want to chat. Love Jean

    Hi -

There won't be a biopsy, no - the doctor seemed to be saying it was an unnecessary added step/risk. The tumour is blocking most of my left airway so it has to come out, and they seem confident of the diagnosis just from the CT scan. Really just waiting on that PET scan to rule out other issues so they can programme the surgery.

Thank you for being so responsive!
