Hi there

newbie here & this is certainly all new to me.
My partner got diagnosed with lung cancer last year with secondary brain. They operated on the brain and it was a success, however it came back in October.
The chemotherapy is doing the trick for the lungs, they are doing great but it wasn’t penetrating deep enough in the brain.
He went through radiotherapy, and they were confident it would reset everything back to how the brain was after the surgery.
However, the radiotherapy didn’t work and has caused fluid round the nugget which I believe is small but he is on steroids to reduce this fluid & they changed his anti seizure pills also.
We were at the consultant today and they are going to try immunotherapy, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and how things went?

Many thanks in advance, take care and stay safe Heart️xXx

Hi.  I’m receiving immunotherapy along side chemo.  Everything has been ok so far.  After my chemo has finished in March I will be receiving immunotherapy once a month for two years apparently there are no side effects

    Hi

Thank you, we haven’t heard much about this type of treatment.
They are stopping his chemo even though it’s done great for the lungs, and will just receive the immunotherapy.
Fingers crossed and prayers it works Fingers crossed and your treatment is also successful x

  • Hi Maltings, and a very warm welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. There are a few people here who are either on Immunotherapy or have finished the 2 year treatment with good results.

I will add the information page here for you, to give you some idea what it is about. Immunotherapy

I am so sorry that your partner is going through this tough time. You must also remember to look after yourself through this. As well as getting support for your partner here, you can also look at joining the Family and friends forum where you can get support from others going through a similar situation to yourself.

    Take care
