please let me know if there is any hope
I’m in such awful pain
T sorry for bothering you all
many thanks
When my husband had his his first Zometa he was in agony, walking from room to room to ease it.
But after the next one it wasnt so bad. It seemed to get easier after each infusion. Hope that helps.
If things get too bad call your nurse contact. Hope you feel better soon xx
Yes. Though he had all treatment paused. Due to immunotherapy. He was on pembro only for 6 months, which worked at start then his 2nd 3 monthly scan showed a fractionn increase in lung tumour, so they decided to stop that & start chemo. So pembro stopped in August.
He had chemo in Sept & was fine all swelling in legs & knee pain stopped & about 10 days after suffered a delayed colitis reaction to pembro. So all treatment stopped.
Hes ok now, apart from radiitherapy fatigue as he had 5 days if that last week.
So this week hes due to restart his chemo on 31st.
When he was on pembro had zometa every 6 weeks with along pembro. Then chemo started every 3cwks & had zometa.
So I can only presume he'll have zometa every 3 wks with chemo, as the pause as knocked everything outbof sync.
Nobody as ever said how long he'll be on zometa for.
Oh bless you. Do you have a support nurse you can ring? You shouldnt be suffering so badly & maybe they can help you with pain relief. But you should tell them how bad your pain is or even ring the Macmillan Hotline to see what they advise?
We had transport going to London, procedure was over quickly all good nothing abnormal. But our transport coming back went a bit up the wall. Confusion reigned! So we paid for a taxi home £44!
It was a long day, but glad all was ok with his procedure.
Today was bloods day for chemo tomoz & thats all good to go. So hubby will be having carboplatin/premextred chemo & zometa.
But if you're in so much pain, please get advice from your nurse or the hotline.
Its been a busy few wks, exhausted! I was in bed by 8pm last night, but slept 6 hrs & then up & down all night. I'm just catching up on washing now & tomoz hubby goes alone for chemo, so gives me chance do some house work, tidy balcony & sort a few other bits.
Its never ending, always something to do or chase up!
Take care & please get help with your pain x
Hi Peggy123
I have seen your posts in lots of places within the online community talking about how much pain you're in and how you now have wobbly, painful teeth since having zoledronic acid and asking for advice.
I can see that you've had lots of replies from people, most suggesting that you urgently speak to your cancer nurse specialist (CNS) so that you can get help.
You also posted about this in the ask a nurse section of the online community and had lots of helpful information about how to resolve your issues from the nurse that replied. Have you followed up on her advice yet?
In case you haven't seen the reply from the nurse, please click here which will take you to her reply. Please do follow up on her advice as soon as possible as none of us here will be able to advise you on what to do, other than telling you to seek medical help, as we're not medically qualified.
I really do hope that you'll speak to your CNS tomorrow so that you can get the help you urgently need.
Sending ((hugs))
