Hi all, hope you're all coping.
I had upper r lobectomy, with curative intent a year ago. I was really lucky to need no further treatment. Just had my first CT and it was clear, yay!
For some reason, I'm really slow in my recovery, probs because I've just discovered my thyroid has stopped working so I'm on thyroxine now. Also had my brain zapped as I've got a benign brain tumour but I should be better by now from that radiotherapy. Would I be able to get a PET if I asked, just to put my mind at rest? I'm not really a worrier but I'm feeling so yuk and don't know why? Has anyone else asked for one or will they just think I'm a hypochondriac?
Hi Ails congratulations on your clear ct, that is wonderful news. I wouldn’t think they would give you a PET scan as you have had a clear ct, but you may be able to do this privately.
An upper lobectomy and radiotherapy to the brain is a lot for anyone to go through. My sister suffers with her thyroid and it makes her feel very unwell, so I am not surprised you feel yuck. I know how hard it is to put all of the bad thoughts out of your head, but a clear CT is something to celebrate! Be easy on yourself, you have been through a traumatic time, it takes time to recover. X
