Hi
has anyone had 2 lung lobes removed and been told there is some vascular invasion
I’m trying to understand the situation
as been advised chemo thank you
Hello Budds,
I had a similar situation after surgery to remove my right lung, it meant that there were cancer cells found outside of the tumour itself so a chance some could be circulating which increases the risk of the cancer later spreading elsewhere in the body. Chemo after surgery is designed to kill any such cells and therefore increase long term survival chances.
It's worked so far for me.
Hello Budds,
I had a top lobe and mid section lobectomy where the tumour had invaded the pulmonary artery and the bronchus.
I assume if you had two lobes removed this was your right lung, my tumour was in the left.
The pulmonary artery was sleeved with what I believe was a piece of bovine artery. I'm not sure what was used to sleeve the bronchus.
Has chemo been recommended as adjunctive therapy?
